About

One founder, one idea, no detour

Syrax is not a corporation and has no intention of becoming one. Behind the brand stands Michael Lohrberg – someone who knows first-hand what deployment and shift work do to your sleep, and who built a device in response.

How we got here

From the forces through the factory to a product of his own

Michael Lohrberg served in the German armed forces from 2006 to 2010, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Working under those conditions teaches two lessons thoroughly: equipment has to work when it matters. And recovery is not a luxury but the basis for everything that follows the next day.

After his service came the second chapter: at Volkswagen since 2010, and alongside it building and managing several properties of his own. Two commitments side by side, over years – with shifts, long days and the recurring question of how much is actually left in the tank.

That question led to the idea behind Syrax in 2025. The trackers on the market gave no useful answer: battery life too short, sleep analysis too coarse – and health data ending up on servers nobody would account for. So a device of its own took shape, built to run for weeks and to leave the data where it belongs.

In 2026 the idea became a company. Syrax is deliberately lean: app and firmware development happen in Germany, manufacturing takes place with selected partners worldwide. For you that means one thing above all – you speak to the owner, not to a department.

  1. 2006 – 2010

    German armed forces

Service in the Bundeswehr, including a deployment to Afghanistan. A time when reliability was not a figure of speech but a precondition.

  2. since 2010

    Volkswagen and his own properties

Back to industry: at Volkswagen ever since, and in parallel building and managing several properties of his own.

  3. 2025

    The idea

Everyday work at Volkswagen sparks the idea for a modern sleep and fitness tracker – born from the question of why recovery is so hard to measure.

  4. 2026

    Syrax is founded

The idea becomes a company. App and firmware developed in Germany, manufacturing with selected partners worldwide.

Mission

Make recovery measurable – for people who have to function on shifts, on deployment or across two commitments at once. No subscription lock-in, no weekly charging and nobody else reading along.

Vision

A company that stays reachable as it grows. Devices where you can see where the data goes – and proof that good hardware does not have to come from a corporation.

Values

How we measure our decisions

Innovation

The Pulse band started with a problem of our own, not a market analysis. Every feature has to meet that standard.

Quality

Manufacturing partners are chosen on test samples, not on catalogue prices. Whatever fails inspection does not ship.

Closeness

You write to the owner, not to a queue. Short paths are the advantage of a small company – we intend to keep them.

Privacy

Health data deserves particular care. Processing inside the EU, encryption on the device, no sharing with third parties.
